30 kW Ground Mount System

This summer, Sungineer Solar designed and led the installation of a 30-kilowatt ground mount system on a farm in Lansing, NY.

Cool feature of this project: remote net metering. Remote net metering means the credits generated from this system on the farm will be applied to the utility bills on another structure (a house in downtown Ithaca).

This project also included design for an electric service upgrade for the main farmhouse, plus extending electric power to 3 outbuildings.

inverters convert the DC power from the solar to the AC power used by the farmhouse and fed back into the grid

The property owner has big plans for this land, so extending their electric options now was a wise choice.

  1. We wanted to install a system large enough to generate 100% of the power needed for our small farm, including heating and cooling, with additional capacity to offset our energy bills at a second property through remote net metering. Dave was very knowledgeable about the entire process, and walked us through from initial planning to completion, including upgrading our electrical service and extending it underground to all of our outbuildings (no more spiderweb of overhead wires, hooray!). He took the time to answer all our questions and explained the workings of the system in a way that we could understand. Even the inspector commented on how tidy and well thought out our system was! We couldn’t be happier with both the process and the end result. Thanks Dave!

    1. Thanks for the feedback! Don’t mind the spiderwebs, unless they’re made of old wires. 🙂 Really enjoyed working with you and excited to see what the future holds for your projects. Cheers, Dave
