Sungineer Solar was founded in early 2019 to provide a unique blend of solar engineering and field services.

We are experienced with every aspect of solar PV: service, installation, commissioning, and design.

We’re based in Ithaca, and we serve the entire Finger Lakes and Central New York regions.

About Dave

Dave Tedeyan, Sungineer Solar founder, combines his engineering skills with a passion for renewable energy and a love for working outside.

Dave started his renewables career at Taitem Engineering’s Renewables Department in 2012. He started as an installer, then moved to project manager, operations manager, and finally the department’s service manager, overseeing and performing all service, commissioning, and O&M work. When the Renewables Department closed in 2019, Dave founded Sungineer Solar to continue to serve the Finger Lakes community’s solar PV needs.

Outside of work, Dave loves playing ultimate frisbee, even playing in the finals of the World Masters Ultimate Club championships. On weekends, he enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, and hiking with his wife, young daughter, and toddler son.

About Nicole

Nicole Tedeyan joined Sungineer Solar in 2021 as our Business Manager. She handles the finance, human resource, and IT aspects of the business. On the operations side, she’s responsible for contract management, permitting & utility interconnection, and client documentation. She’s often the first to chat with new clients, and she even helps out on installations.

Sungineer Solar embodies a perfect blend of Nicole’s experiences and interests. She met Dave while rock climbing (no fear of heights – useful for roof work), and one of their first conversations was about renewable energy. With her background in city planning (B.S. Urban & Regional Studies, Cornell University), she navigates the local planning, zoning, and permitting process. Most recently, she spent a decade in project management and organizational leadership for a local IT company. She is a master cat-herder and is overly fond of bullet-pointed lists.

Nicole loves the great outdoors and is passionate about cultivating a more sustainable future. Outside of Sungineer Solar, she loves reading, gardening, cooking, and yoga. She also enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, and hiking with her husband, young daughter, and toddler son.
