Bird’s Eye View: 15.54 kW REC + Enphase System

This project blended aspects of the historic and modern. The homeowner is in the midst of transitioning to electricity as their sole fuel source – very modern – while building out their sweet little homestead with beautiful gardens – very traditional.

Since the homeowners just moved in July 2024, we worked with them to establish a baseline load pattern, then sketch out their electrification plans for the next few years, establishing a production target. Knowing they hoped to install batteries in the future, Enphase microinverters were a great choice – they account for multiple arrays with varied shading beautifully, and adding batteries in the future is trivial. Enphase integrates with the SPAN panel the homeowner installed, as well.

We installed 37 REC modules on their 125-year old farmhouse that had several additions over the years. The arrays covered as much usable roof space as possible; even maxing out the roof space, their long-term plans call for more electricity than this system will generate. All electric households draw a lot of power!

The homeowner captured some great drone shots:

The homeowner reports that Enphase’s and SPAN’s open software allows the creation of super cool energy generation and usage dashboards. We’re excited to see what he creates!
